Two summers ago, GVO YEN’s hit song ‘NEED A GIRL’ was being played out of every Bluetooth speaker in the five boroughs, he was a relatively small drill rapper from BROOKLYN but since then he has managed to become one of the leaders of the NYC music scene. GVO YEN Is widely known for his hit-making ability. He has been able to flip these fire drill samples and create music that has a nostalgic sound transfused with the modern hip-hop sound.
By re-inventing easily recognizable hits like ‘SONG CRY’ by Jay Z or ‘Beat It’ by Michael Jackson (both on YEN SZN) GVO YEN discovered the cheat code for winning over mass fans and becoming a juggernaut in this music industry. All of his songs gives catchy and viral; each time he drops a record I find myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see what he put out! I call him “Mr. Never Miss” because exactly that he does not MISS! every drop is FUEGO!
This album was exactly what I expected. I knew we were going to get some litt samples (Need A Girl pt.2) ft YVNG LEGACY catchy anthems (K.I.Y.B) ft Connie Diamond and Deveye and some dancing heat for the streets (All In). I didn’t know how I felt about "‘ALL IN’ at first but that track grew on me and became one of my favorite tracks. ‘Song CRY’ was a clever and unexpected flip, that Jersey Drill came out of nowhere and surprised me. I wasn't expecting that sound at all, nonetheless, I found myself bumping that track on repeat 10 times in a row. This is GVO YEN’S third album and I’m here for it! I enjoyed the tape and can’t wait to see what’s next.
